honda city 2019
AutoCatch | Automotive Reviews - Honda City was first launched on 1981 for the Asian market. And until now Honda City has undergone several changes to 6 generations. The first generation was introduced in November 1981 as a 3-door Hatchback with rounded lamp which was very popular in the Japanese and Asian markets at that time. Then in 1986 a second generation emerged that still had the Hatchback concept but had adopted the box shaped lights.

The third generation was introduced in 1996 as the Sedan concept that began to look modern. In this version starting in 2000 there are some minor updates, especially on machines that have used 1.5L VTEC which is more powerful and able to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in just 10 seconds. And in November 2002 came the fourth generation with some renewals such as using an electric rearview mirror and a 7-speed CVT transmission system with tiptronics controlled by using the paddle shift stick.

6 years later Honda began launching the New City as its fifth generation on 2008 with a 1.5L i-VTEC engine capable of delivering 88 kW (120 hp) @ 6600 rpm and maximum torque of 14.8 kgm (145 Nm) @ 4800 rpm. And the latest is the sixth generation of Honda City which was launched in 2013 to the present. This sixth generation Honda City is a version of the Sedan that uses the base of the latest generation of Honda Jazz platform (third generation).
